Curriculum

At Biggar Daycare, we focus on building social, emotional, and cognitive skills while providing a safe, engaging environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Biggar Daycare offers age-specific childcare programs designed to support each stage of early childhood development in a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment. Our programs follow a play-based learning approach that encourages social, emotional, physical, and cognitive growth while respecting each child’s individual needs and developmental milestones.

Infants and toddlers are supported through routines that focus on comfort, sensory exploration, language development, and motor skills, with flexible schedules that align with each child’s needs. As children grow, programming expands to include structured activities, guided play, early literacy, creative expression, and problem-solving skills that help build independence and confidence.

Preschool-aged children participate in developmentally appropriate learning experiences that prepare them for school readiness, including early numeracy, communication skills, cooperative play, and self-regulation. Our experienced educators create a consistent daily routine that balances learning, outdoor play, rest, and social interaction—ensuring children feel secure while continuing to grow and thrive.

When families have access to reliable childcare, the entire community benefits.

How to help

Families in Biggar consistently face long waitlists and limited licensed childcare options. Many parents are unable to return to work or school due to lack of access.

Our 1-year and 5-year goals revolve around expanding childcare capacity, supporting staff, and creating a space built for growth, learning, and wellness.

The new daycare will offer:

  • Room for 90 licensed spaces
  • Expanded programs
  • Dedicated learning areas
  • Safe indoor/outdoor play environments
  • Space to reintroduce Before & After School Programs
  • Improved accessibility for families
  • Modern safety and environmental features

Why we're building

The Biggar Daycare Project is growing—because our community needs it. With childcare waitlists at an all-time high, families are struggling to find licensed, reliable care. Our goal is simple: build a larger, modern facility that can support more families, more children, and a stronger future for Biggar.

Our new state-of-the-art daycare building will expand our capacity from 43 childcare spaces to 90, offering safe, nurturing, licensed care for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers. This project will allow us to meet the community’s growing demand and finally eliminate the childcare shortage in our region.
